Cannelle Clavier et Maylis Gaulin, doctorantes au LATMOS, ont participé à l’édition 2025 de l’European Research Course on the Atmosphere (ERCA), organisée à Grenoble. Cette formation de deux semaines s’adresse aux scientifiques en début de carrière souhaitant repousser les frontières des sciences de l’atmosphère et répondre aux grands défis environnementaux contemporains.
Cannelle Clavier and Maylis Gaulin, doctoral students at LATMOS, participated in the 2025 edition of the European Research Course on the Atmosphere (ERCA), held in Grenoble. This two-week training course is aimed at early-career scientists who want to push the boundaries of atmospheric science and respond to major contemporary environmental challenges.

« Lors de ces deux semaines à ERCA, des intervenants venus de toute l’Europe ont partagé leur expertise. Leurs cours ont favorisé des échanges stimulants pour de jeunes chercheurs. Mon projet sur la qualité de l’air en Europe m’a offert l’opportunité d’échanger avec des spécialistes du domaine. Les données ont pu être analysées grâce à des observations spatiales et des modèles atmosphériques. Certains cours étaient proches de mon champ de recherche, et m’ont permis d’élargir ma compréhension des enjeux scientifiques et d’affiner mon approche sur mon sujet de thèse. »

« During these two weeks at ERCA, speakers from all over Europe shared their expertise. Their lectures encouraged stimulating discussions among young researchers. My project on air quality in Europe gave me the opportunity to talk with specialists in the field. The data was analyzed using space observations and atmospheric models. Some of the lectures were closely related to my field of research, allowing me to broaden my understanding of the scientific issues involved and refine my approach to my thesis topic. »
Depuis sa création en 1993 par le professeur Claude Boutron, ERCA a organisé 31 sessions, réunissant environ 1 300 participants issus de 50 pays. L’édition 2025 marquera la 32e session du programme.
