On Friday, June 20, the Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines Observatory (OVSQ) had the pleasure of welcoming a foreign delegation from the Paris Air Show, accompanied by representatives from the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines metropolitan area.
This visit, focused on space training and NewSpace, was organized by Choose France in conjunction with the International Paris Air Show (SIAE), which was held that same week in Le Bourget.
Accompanied by Pierre Maso, technical director of the OVSQ and head of the PIT, the participants were able to discover the OVSQ’s infrastructure, in particular the PIT (Integration and Testing Platform), a real showcase for the department’s space activities:
- The MIRE room, an interactive digital room equipped with an immersive wall
- The balloon hall, dedicated to the integration of balloon pods
- The clean rooms
- The vibration pot
- The space hall, with the thermal vacuum chamber and climatic chambers
The morning also provided an opportunity to present the various space activities carried out at UVSQ within LATMOS and the Académie Spatiale, and to illustrate the region’s NewSpace dynamic and the potential for synergy between research, training, and business needs.
Vendredi 20 juin, l’Observatoire de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (OVSQ) a eu le plaisir de recevoir une délégation étrangère venue du Salon du Bourget et accompagnée par l’agglomération de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.
Cette visite sur le thème de la formation spatiale et du NewSpace a été organisée par Choose France en parallèle du Salon International de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace (SIAE) qui s’est tenue cette même semaine au Bourget.
Accompagné·es par Pierre Maso – directeur technique de l’OVSQ et responsable de la PIT – les participant·es ont pu découvrir les infrastuctures de l’OVSQ, notamment de la PIT (Plateforme Intégrations et Tests), véritables vitrines des activités spatiales du département :
- La salle MIRE, une salle interactive numérique équipée d’un mur immersif
- La halle ballon, dédiée à l’intégration des nacelles ballons
- Les salles propres
- Le pot vibrant
- La halle spatiale, avec la cuve à vide thermique et les enceintes climatiques
La matinée a également été l’occasion de présenter les différentes activités spatiales menées à l’UVSQ au sein du LATMOS et de l’Académie Spatiale et d’illustrer la dynamique NewSpace de la région ainsi que les possibilités de synergie entre recherche, formation et besoin des entreprises.
