Le drone de Dragonfly sera rempli d\u2019instruments scientifiques dont un analyseur mol\u00e9culaire, DraMS, le spectrom\u00e8tre de masse (SM). Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son module de chromatographie en phase gazeuse (CPG) con\u00e7u au LATMOS en partenariat avec le centre NASA Goddard, DraMS sera en mesure d\u2019\u00e9lucider la composition mol\u00e9culaire de la r\u00e9gion du crat\u00e8re de Selk sur Titan. Pour ce faire, DraMS utilisera des protocoles de traitements chimiques des cibles mol\u00e9culaires (appel\u00e9s d\u00e9rivatisation) pour faciliter leur analyse en CPG-SM. On retrouve parmi ces techniques la thermochemolyse, une d\u00e9rivatisation \u00e0 haute temp\u00e9rature d\u00e9j\u00e0 utilis\u00e9e par l\u2019instrument SAM de Curiosity permettant la d\u00e9tection de mol\u00e9cules r\u00e9fractaires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les futures mol\u00e9cules cibles de DraMS incluent notamment les mol\u00e9cules qui composent le vivant telles que les acides amin\u00e9s, les bases nucl\u00e9iques, les acides carboxyliques des m\u00e9tabolismes cellulaires, etc., mais aussi potentiellement des mol\u00e9cules plus lourdes et complexes telles que des peptides ou des nucl\u00e9otides. La potentielle pr\u00e9sence de ces mol\u00e9cules dans un environnement comme le crat\u00e8re de Selk reste inconnue et d\u00e9pend de l\u2019avanc\u00e9e de la chimie organique ayant eu lieu suite \u00e0 la fonte de la croute glac\u00e9e post-impact, l\u2019une des grandes questions dont Dragonfly sera charg\u00e9 de r\u00e9pondre. De plus, notre capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 d\u00e9tecter et identifier ces analytes complexes et non volatiles en CPG-SM avec nos techniques compatibles avec l\u2019instrumentation spatiale reste aussi \u00e0 explorer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les \u00e9tudes pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es dans ce s\u00e9minaire tournent autour de la d\u00e9tection des nucl\u00e9otides qui composent l\u2019ARN et de leur potentielle pr\u00e9sence endog\u00e8ne sur Titan. Deux agents de thermochemolyse : l\u2019hydroxyde de tetramethylammonium (TMAH) couramment utilis\u00e9 dans nos protocoles instrumentaux CPG-SM spatiaux et l\u2019hydroxyde de trimethylsulfonium (TMSH) nouveau r\u00e9actif candidat pour la mission Dragonfly seront compar\u00e9s afin d\u2019aider \u00e0 \u00e9lire le r\u00e9actif le plus pertinent \u00e0 embarquer pour la mission, tout en caract\u00e9risant la d\u00e9tection de nucl\u00e9otides par thermochemolyse coupl\u00e9 \u00e0 la CPG-SM. La synth\u00e8se d\u2019\u00e9chantillon analogues \u00e0 l\u2019oasis du crat\u00e8re de Selk par hydrolyse et radiolyse de tholins et leur analyse dans des conditions \u00ab DraMS-like \u00bb permettra ensuite de r\u00e9v\u00e9ler si oui ou non des nucl\u00e9otides ou autres mol\u00e9cules g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques pourraient avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 synth\u00e9tis\u00e9es sur Titan et si nous seront en mesure de les d\u00e9tecter avec DraMS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ENGLISH VERSION<br><\/strong><br>ABSTRACT:<br>The NASA Dragonfly mission will launch a drone in 2028 to explore Titan\u2019s surface in search of complex, potentially prebiotic chemistry. The Dragonfly drone will be equipped with scientific instruments, including a molecular analyzer, DraMS, and a mass spectrometer (MS). Thanks to its gas chromatography (GC) module designed at LATMOS in partnership with NASA\u2019s Goddard Space Flight Center, DraMS will be able to determine the molecular composition of the Selk Crater region on Titan. To do this, DraMS will use chemical treatment protocols on molecular targets (known as derivatization) to facilitate their analysis via GC-MS. Among these techniques is thermochemolysis, a high-temperature derivatization method already used by Curiosity\u2019s SAM instrument to detect refractory molecules.<br>Future target molecules for DraMS include, in particular, the molecules that make up living organisms\u2014such as amino acids, nucleic acids, and carboxylic acids involved in cellular metabolism\u2014as well as potentially heavier and more complex molecules such as peptides and nucleotides. The potential presence of these molecules in an environment such as the Selk crater remains unknown and depends on the extent of organic chemistry that occurred following the melting of the post-impact icy crust\u2014one of the major questions Dragonfly will be tasked with answering. Furthermore, our ability to detect and identify these complex, non-volatile analytes using CPG-SM with techniques compatible with space instrumentation also remains to be explored.<br>The studies presented in this seminar focus on the detection of the nucleotides that make up RNA and their potential endogenous presence on Titan. Two thermochemolysis agents\u2014tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH), commonly used in our space-based GC-MS instrumental protocols, and trimethylsulfonium hydroxide (TMSH), a new candidate reagent for the Dragonfly mission\u2014will be compared to help select the most suitable reagent to carry on the mission, while characterizing the detection of nucleotides via thermochemolysis coupled with CPG-SM. The synthesis of samples analogous to those found in the Selk Crater oasis through the hydrolysis and radiolysis of tholins, followed by their analysis under \u201cDraMS-like\u201d conditions, will then reveal whether or not nucleotides or other genetic molecules could have been synthesized on Titan and whether we will be able to detect them with DraMS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
